Get started with UPS Global Checkout™ for WooCommerce

Option A: Install from WordPress admin

1. In the sidebar of the WordPress admin panel, look for the Plugins option and click Add Plugins
2. Search for "UPS Global Checkout for WooCommerce"
3. Click Install Now and then Activate

Option B: Upload manually

1. Go to the UPS Global Checkout plugin page
2. Click Download to get the ZIP file
3. In the sidebar of the WordPress admin panel, look for the Plugins option and click Add Plugins
4. Click Upload Plugin and Choose File to upload the ZIP file
5. Click Install Now and then Activate

Once the plugin has been installed, find the UPS Global Checkout option in the sidebar and click on it.

1. Enter your UPS Shipper Number
2. Click Verify Account

UPS Global Checkout returns rates only for supported destination countries. Give those countries their own shipping zone so UPS Global Checkout quotes them, then use WooCommerce's Rest of the world zone with a different shipping method to keep serving every other market.

Create a supported-country zone

1. In the sidebar of the WordPress admin panel, select WooCommerce, then Settings from the submenu beneath it
2. In the main Settings panel, select the Shipping tab across the top
3. In the navigation row below the Shipping heading, select Shipping zones, then select Add zone
4. Enter a zone name in the first field
5. Under Zone regions, use the Start typing to filter zones dropdown to add each supported destination country. Selecting the first country replaces Everywhere
6. Select Save changes at the bottom left

Add UPS Global Checkout to that zone

1. Return to Shipping zones and select Edit on your supported-country zone
2. Under Shipping methods, select Add shipping method → UPS Global Checkout™ → Continue

The method is added and enabled immediately.

Configure the Rest of the world zone

WooCommerce creates this catch-all zone automatically, so there is no region list to configure. Its edit page is labeled Locations not covered by your other zones.

1. Return to Shipping zones and select Edit on Rest of the world
2. Under Shipping methods, select Delete if UPS Global Checkout™ is listed
3. If the shipping method you want for unsupported destinations is already listed, keep it enabled and configure it as needed. Otherwise, select Add shipping method, choose the method that will cover unsupported destinations, and select Continue
4. Complete the required settings and select Create and save

Match each of your WooCommerce shipping methods to the matching UPS service level so quotes return the right rate.

1. Go back to the UPS Global Checkout plugin and locate the Service Level Mapping section
2. Create an entry for each shipping method and map it to the service level in the UPS rates
3. Select Save Changes

To verify your setup works correctly:

1. Add item(s) to your cart: We recommend using a higher value (above the de minimis) to ensure that duties and taxes will be due for the order
2. Go to Checkout
3. Add an international address to your checkout: You will need to use a real address or you will not get quotes back
4. Select one of the shipping methods you have configured and mapped in the plugin
5. If set up correctly, you will see the taxes, duties, and fees under the subtotal
